Purposes

• To promote the interest of Vocational/Family and Consumer Sciences education in all subject matter areas and at all levels.
• To unite into one statewide organization those persons interested in promotion Vocational/Family and Consumer Sciences education.
• To assume and maintain active state leadership in the promotion of Vocational/Family and Consumer Sciences.
• To act as a central agency to help keep the people of this state, including legislators and our representation in the national congressional bodies, clearly and reliably informed of the purposes, needs and accomplishments of Vocational/Family and Consumer Sciences educational programs.
• To provide opportunities for professional growth and development of all Vocational/Family and Consumer Sciences educational personnel.
• To help establish and maintain high quality Vocational/Family and Consumer Sciences educational programs from early childhood through adulthood.
• To promote FCCLA as an integral part of the Vocational/Family and Consumer Sciences education programs. To maintain interest in other related professional organizations.
• To affiliate with the American Association for Career and Technical Education (AACTE), National Association of Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences (NATFACS) and the Illinois Association for Career and Technical Education (IACTE) Illinois Association for Career and Technical Education
• To develop and encourage the linkage between Vocational/Family and Consumer Sciences, business and industry.
